Easy 30-Minute Exercise Routines

Getting regular exercise is an essential component to maintaining your overall health and wellness. Lace up those runners, and let’s explore the components of a few easy 30-minute exercise routines you can do around your home with minimal equipment!

Warm Up

Taking the time to properly warm up before doing a higher-intensity workout can help prevent sore muscles and injury. Before you begin, take a couple of minutes to do some light movement to warm up your body and a few brief stretches to get your muscles ready for activity.

Cardio Exercise

Cardio is an essential element of any exercise routine because it helps to reduce arthritis and strengthens your heart and muscles, as well as preventing high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. According to the American Cancer Society, adults should be getting at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 of vigorous exercise per week.

Some great ways to easily incorporate cardio into a 30-minute exercise routine include going for a run, biking, or taking a brisk walk! Remember to stay hydrated, don’t do cardio on an empty stomach, and always stretch before and after.

Muscle Strengthening Exercise

After you’ve raised your heart rate with some cardio, you can incorporate exercises to strengthen your muscles! For example, squats, pushups, and bicep curls are great activities that can be done with weights or modified to use your body weight and build muscle mass. If you’re just beginning to regularly workout, start slowly and work your way up to heavier weights.

Want a routine to follow along with? Try out this fun HIIT workout that can be done from home, requires no equipment, and will get your muscles working to burn calories and strengthen your body!

Cool Down

Just as we discussed the importance of warming our muscles up before we exercise, a brief cool-down is also essential to ease yourself out of strenuous activity. A proper cool-down lowers your chance of injury, promotes blood flow, and reduces stress on your heart and other muscles!
