History

Covenant HealthShare is built on the rich legacies of medical benevolence and charitable philanthropy of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. and Cathedral of Faith Church.

The Church of God in Christ (COGIC) was founded in 1907 by Bishop Charles Harrison Mason and has since grown into the largest Pentecostal Denomination in the Country, with congregations in all 50 states and in over 100 countries around the world. COGIC Charities and COGIC World Missions are the organizations’ two main outreach groups. The focus of COGIC World Missions is to reach people around the globe with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, empower them to transform their communities and provide resources that bring about hope. COGIC World Missions operates in more than 100 countries throughout the world and has undertaken such impactful initiatives as: leading refugee relief efforts in Sudan, providing disaster assistance in Nepal and providing grants to churches in the United States to support their local missions projects.

Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ is Covenant HealthShare’s predecessor organization and its members have been medical sharing for over 30 years. Founded in 1940, Cathedral of Faith has consistently been a beacon of hope in Atlanta’s faith community for 80 years. One of the Church’s main tenets is to minister to the whole person, mind, body and spirit and we know medical sharing reduces burdens on the mind and makes for a healthier body.

Covenant HealthShare is proud to build on the legacy of these two pillars of faith, by providing Christians from across the United States the opportunity to join our community!
